Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines Reunion Registration

We are excited to announce the upcoming reunion for Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, commemorating our time together from 2003 to 2005. This period was particularly significant due to our active involvement in the Iraq War, where we forged unbreakable bonds during intense and challenging operations.

Key Highlights of Our Service (2003-2005)

  • 2003: During the Invasion of Iraq, Golf Company, 2/1, was at the forefront of the first wave of Marines entering Iraq. We played a critical role in the Battle of Basra and secured vital oil fields and infrastructure in southern Iraq.

  • 2004: In April, we were part of the First Battle of Fallujah (Operation Vigilant Resolve), engaging in one of the most intense urban combat operations of the Iraq War. Despite the ceasefire and withdrawal, our efforts were instrumental. Post-Fallujah, we continued vital counter-insurgency operations throughout Al Anbar Province.

  • 2005: Our deployment saw us participating in Operation Steel Curtain. This was a major offensive aimed at driving out insurgents from the towns along the Euphrates River near the Syrian border, particularly in Husaybah, Karabilah, and Ubaydi. Golf Company played a critical role in these operations, which were essential in disrupting insurgent activities and restoring stability to the region.
